Plan on a level patch of ground of at least five by four feet, plus a foot of clearance around the sides so the 17.1-inch-wide front door swings fully open and you can reach the nesting box and planter boxes from outside. The main house sits 39.4 by 42.9 by 51.6 inches within the overall footprint, with the flower stands and boxes making up the rest. Assembly & care

Assembly is required. The manufacturer notes that two people can set the coop up in about 1.2 hours, so plan for a second pair of hands to hold panels while you fasten them. Wipe the painted surfaces clean with a damp cloth and let them dry, and keep the exterior paint and roof sealed against weather so rain and sun do not reach the fir underneath.
